Moving on
It has been an awesome year but I’m sad to announce I have left Zerply. I’d like to thank the whole team for being so great the past 12 months, especially Taaniel Jakobs & Christofer Karltorp for taking the plunge, putting their faith in a small town English boy and throwing him into the startup culture.
I’m immensely proud of the product that we built, it’s my best work to date and I learned an incredible amount in a relatively short amount of time. It has definitely shifted my mind set of design and development for the better.
The experience literally changed my life and exposed me to a world that is not about work or having a “job”, but more about doing what you love and being around people who are truly driven to solve a problem.
I met loads of awesome people during my two visits to Silicon Valley last year and subsequently been able to talk to (and hatch plans with) people I have respected for many years. The whole SV community is wonderful as it is intriguing to get even the smallest taste of.
That being said, living the life of an early stage start up is hard. Not every company will be an Instagram, Pinterest or X young startup with X million users and $X million raised. Don’t take this as me trying to put you off at all just don’t assume that it will be as easy as the average TC article makes it out to be.
I will still be helping out with Zerply now and again and I am really excited about what the team has in store for this year - so pay close attention!
